WATCH OUT FOR THE LOOSE SEAL
or, what i did at work today.
And suddenly, I wanted to go to a baby shower as never before.
I’m having the party, all librarians are invited! (lovely guest room and I make a great bloody mary and coffee)
one of my biggest pet peeves is when people who aren’t from the south say “y’all” like what are you doing that’s like if i started saying “bloody hell” just ughbseflkrshlfa it annoys me so much idk
I get so angry when friends of mine write “mum.” Like those friends who pretend…
haha I’m so Southern that I didn’t realize that “ya’ll” was totally-southern-only until I was 24. I was like “seriously, ya’ll don’t say it sometimes just by accident?”
For context so everyone doesn’t think I’m a hill-billy: I had also had taught in Beijing for a year, and studied abroad a few semesters in college so I had definitely left the South by 24, “ya’ll” is just totally in my DNA :)

All of you are wrong. The J in GIF is silent. Like in José.

Hey! If you have any awesome stories about how libraries changed your life OR if you know someone, have them submit to this Tumblr. Energy going into positivity is awesome and I will always support it!
Meet the Beardlsey family, who decided to dress up as Tobias Fünke from Arrested Development this past Halloween. Yes — all of them. Mother Autumn (Mrs. Featherbottom) explains:
A lot of people have asked how we got our kids to do it. I don’t really know why they do it, they just do. Like I said, the show is part of our family, and has taught us that family is the most important thing (unless of course you mean of the things we eat, in which case it’s breakfast).

I made these new games for Outreach at our library. We have a new trivia game, football toss, and pin the spear on Chief Osceola. These games will hopefully get students interested in asking questions about library services, and they can also win some sweet sunglasses with “Club Stroz” on the side, which is the affectionate nickname for our social library.
Have you made any games for patrons to play?
Brilliant. I haven’t done any passive programming yet but I’m definitely putting this in the ideas rotation. Thanks!
ALA better be awesome. Just found out I’m going to miss a Vanilla Ice/ Tone Loc concert while I’m in Chicago… Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited to be around all you tumblarians - but this is VANILLA!
It will be so awesome, don’t doubt it for a second!
